Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Practical answers about using AI Walking Tour — what it needs, what it costs, how long a tour takes, and what happens if a walk doesn't go to plan.

Do I need to download an app?

No. AI Walking Tour runs in your phone's browser. There is nothing to install, and nothing to update before a trip.

Does it work offline?

The tour is generated online, so you need a connection while it is being created. Once you have it you can export the whole tour as a PDF — route map, stops, and narration text — and carry that with you if you expect to lose signal.

How long is a typical walking tour?

That is up to you. You choose how many stops you want and how far you're willing to walk, and the tour shows the total walking time before you set off. Most people pick something between a short loop and a couple of hours.

Can I use it in my own city?

Yes, and it is one of the better ways to use it. Because stops are chosen from live map data around your starting point, you can point it at your own neighborhood and get places you have walked past for years without knowing the story.

Are the places real, or does the AI invent them?

Real. Every candidate place is verified against live map data before it can become a stop, so you are routed to somewhere that actually exists and is currently operating.

How do I know the AI isn't making things up?

Every stop's narrative is written only after the AI runs a live web search on that specific place — it's required to search before it writes, not rely on memory alone. When it finds a good source, it links it directly in the narrative so you can verify it yourself. This substantially reduces hallucination, but no AI is guaranteed accurate 100% of the time: always double-check time-sensitive details like opening hours, entry rules, and safety conditions before you go.

Can I follow the stops in a different order?

Yes. The route is optimized for walking efficiency, but it is a suggestion, not a rule. Take the stops in any order, skip the ones that don't appeal, and pause whenever you like.

What if the tour isn't good?

There is a feedback option on every tour, and it goes straight to us. Feedback on stop selection and narration is what tunes the system, so it is worth sending.

How does pricing work?

Your first tour is free. After that, tours are paid with credits at a clear per-tour price — there is no subscription. Credit purchases are final.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free account is needed to create a tour. It is what tracks your free tour and your credit balance, and you can sign in with Google.

Is this a replacement for a human guide?

No. A great human guide brings warmth, spontaneity, and stories only they can tell. An AI tour guide is on-demand, patient, multilingual, and shaped entirely around your interests. It is best thought of as a companion for the walks you would otherwise take in silence.
